Update on COVID-19
Tēnā koutou katoa
The Council of Medical Colleges, has in the past month, held two
meetings to discuss matters of clinical importance with regard to
COVID-19 for Colleges, their fellows and trainees. Both the CMC
Executive and Board meetings agreed that College members are
playing a most important role in the response to this pandemic
during this challenging time and that working collaboratively and
supporting each other is the best way forward. We are especially
mindful of the potential impact COVID-19 may have on Māori and are
working on guidelines as well as being keen to hear of any ways we,
as CMC, can help.
This slow moving crisis is a once in a lifetime opportunity, with
its different collaboration and learning opportunities, to discuss
ways forward across all Colleges, together. There has never been a
more important time to Choose Wisely, apportion resources equitably
and rationally, and to remember compassion and kindness to our
patients, our colleagues, our communities and to ourselves.
CMC is here to support you. If you have any concerns please
contact me.
